Golden Chai Snow Balls to Support Lower Inflammation

‘Tis the season to lower inflammation fa-la-la-la-la-la-la

This has been our go-to energy ball recipe that is high in fiber, protein, healthy fat, and cozy warming spices. These energy balls can lower inflammation, support digestion, and prevent bloating. What could be better this time of year?

Ingredients

1 cup cashews raw
1/2 cup walnuts, pecans, or pumpkin seeds
2 tablespoons flax seeds
1 tablespoon ground turmeric powder
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
5 Medjool dates, pitted
1/2 cup tahini paste
1 cup shredded coconut

Directions

  1. Begin by putting the nuts in a blender or food processor and blitzing them. They don’t need to be too powdery, when the texture is thicker there is more insoluble fiber.
  2. Next, add the rest of the ingredients except for the coconut and blend again to combine well. Make sure the dates are well incorporated.
  3. With a spoon, scoop out a bit of the mixture and try rolling it into a ball. If the ball falls apart easily, you might need to add 1 tablespoon of melted coconut oil, a little more tahini paste, or 1 more date.
  4. When the mixture is the right texture, roll it into balls and then roll it in shredded coconut. Feel free to use gloves so that your hands don’t stain. Be careful, this recipe can stain everything!

These energy balls can then be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 days or frozen for up to six months. Hope you enjoy them, and happy holidays!
