Dee Fleming, MSN, AGPCNP-BC is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has over 15 years of experience in healthcare. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cordilleras in Baguio City, Philippines, in 2006. Dee moved to the U.S. in 2009 and has practiced in various clinical settings, such as medical-surgical, psychiatry, corrections, and gerontology. She received her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Practice from Spring Arbor University in October 2020.
While working in corrections, Dee provided compassionate care to a vulnerable population. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, COPD, and depression were prevalent, often with complications and co-occurring disorders. She believes counseling on healthier diets/lifestyle, preventative care, and screenings are the cornerstones of good primary care and could prevent these chronic conditions.
Throughout her nursing career, Dee has always been interested in functional medicine, which identifies and addresses the root cause of disease. She believes every illness has a root cause and that every symptom can contribute to a person’s infirmity. Her goal is to treat the cause instead of the symptom to bring the patient back to their optimum condition.
Dee loves to cook, bake, hike, travel, garden, sing karaoke, and spend time with family and friends in her free time.
