Revitalize Your Skin With Dermaplaning

Do you want to improve the health and appearance of your skin? Dermaplaning might be for you! Before determining if this is the right option for your skin, here are a few things you should know.

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a safe, effective, and pain-free treatment that uses a gentle surgical shaving tool to remove dead skin cells. This professional exfoliation method should only be performed by individuals who have received appropriate training. This is not something to try on your own or have a friend do for you.

The goal of this treatment is to remove the top layer of skin cells that consists mostly of dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and bacteria. As a result, the skin is left looking radiant. Any peach fuzz is also removed from the skin leaving your skin silky smooth.

Like many other exfoliation treatments, dermaplaning encourages the skin to produce healthy cells more quickly. You are likely to enjoy longer-term results if performed on a regular basis.

Who should consider dermaplaning?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles, moderate acne scars, and uneven texture and tone
  • Not prone to skin rashes and skin irritations
  • Have not had a recent chemical peel
  • Do not have frequent fever blister or cold sore flare-ups
  • Desire youthful, better-looking skin

Is it painful?

No numbing is needed with dermaplaning since it’s a gentle, non-invasive procedure and is comparable to having your legs shaved.

What should I expect?

A scalpel or other shaving tool is used to gently remove the dead skin cells, debris, and fine hair of the top layer of skin. Our professional aestheticians will use short, feathering strokes to improve the appearance of the face. The entire face from the forehead to the chin will be treated in around 30 minutes and can be performed about once per month for optimal results.

Does it really make a difference?

Yes! Just from your first treatmenet you’ll walk away with skin that looks fresh, smooth, and soft. Since we remove any hair or peach fuzz on your face, you’ll notice your makeup goes on more smoothly. It is also a great treatment to use if you are dealing with fine lines, light scarring, and mild acne.

Most people can enjoy the benefits since no harsh chemicals are used. Even pregnant women and those with sensitive skin can enjoy clear and smooth skin thanks to this treatment. The only individuals who do not make good candidates are those with active acne or thick facial hair.
